. The paper provides the findings of an improvements study of an element of cotton drip irrigation technology and the development of an irrigation procedure in the Bukhara region. For realization of scientifically grounded irrigation regime in the field elements of drip irrigation technology are recommended:
- on soils with light mechanical composition drip water flow rate 1.6 l/h, drip interval 40 sm, placing drip irrigation pipes under each row of cotton (with an interval of 7-10 sm);
- on soils of medium mechanical composition, drip water consumption 1.6 l/h, drip interval 40 sm, it is recommended to place drip irrigation pipes in the middle of the field between cotton rows.
As a result, irrigation water can be saved by 192.6 mm (or 36 %) on soils with light mechanical composition compared to traditional irrigation, and cotton yield can be increased by 1.08 t/ha (or 35%); and on soils of medium loamy loamy mechanical composition in comparison with traditionally irrigated areas, irrigation water saving amounted to 144.4 mm (or 28 %), and cotton yield per hectare was 0.94 t/ha (or 29 %) higher.
