BOOSTING THE EFFICIENCY AND COMPETITIVENESS OF SERVICE-BASED INDUSTRIES

Abstract
This article explores key strategies for enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of service-based industries, with a particular focus on Uzbekistan. As global economies shift toward service-oriented structures, the development of this sector becomes crucial for economic diversification, employment generation, and innovation. The paper examines theoretical perspectives on the nature of services, analyzes government initiatives such as Presidential Decree No. PQ-5113, and evaluates the sector’s growth through statistical trends from 2020 to 2024. Emphasis is placed on digitalization, quality improvement, institutional reform, and support for entrepreneurship. The study concludes that a strategic, innovation-driven approach is essential for achieving long-term resilience and global integration of Uzbekistan’s service economy.
