Abstract

The intersection of technology and climate change law is rapidly redefining global environmental governance. Artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and digital innovation now play crucial roles in energy efficiency, climate modeling, and policy implementation. Yet, the integration of AI into climate governance also presents complex ethical, legal, and regulatory challenges. This article explores the evolving relationship between technology and climate change law, focusing on the role of AI in advancing sustainability. It examines international legal frameworks, national strategies, and emerging governance models aimed at ensuring that technological innovation contributes to climate goals rather than undermining them. Drawing lessons from U.S. and global experiences, the study argues that regulating AI for sustainability requires a balance between innovation, accountability, and environmental protection — an approach that can strengthen the rule of law in the age of digital climate governance.
