Abstract

Polycystic ovary syndrome features distinctive ovarian anatomical changes, including increased ovarian volume, elevated antral follicle count, stromal hyper-echogenicity, and cortical remodeling. This IMRAD-structured review synthesizes ultrasound and histomorphological data, phenotype-specific variability, and links with endocrine markers. Diagnostic limitations, device-dependent thresholds, and integrative clinical interpretation are emphasized.
